Goodbye! No more Rock Show with Katie P...

Hello everyone,
it is with sad fingers (?) that I type the news that I will no longer be doing the Rock Show at XFM as of next week.

The Rock Legend that is Ian Camfield has returned from his travels in New York, and is back at XFM doing a daytime slot - but will now also be taking back the reins of his beloved Rock Show on which he worked for so many years.

My final Rock Show will take place this coming weekend, Saturday March 7, 10pm till 2am.. please tune in!

Thank you very much to everyone who has listened for the past 9 months…

It has been lovely sharing music with you all on on our exciting radio adventure together.

Bye!

Sean Smith (The Blackout) on XFM - PHOTOS!

Last Saturday night Sean Smith (singer of The Blackout) came and co-presented XFM with me for a live four-hour nu-metal special.

It was a really fun show - and thank you to everyone who sent in your emails/texts for Sean and myself!

He was a very natural presenter, and we had such fun!

The boys from You Me At Six also popped in to say hello!

Check out PHOTOS from the event HERE!

It's official: Sean 'The Blackout' Smith to co-present XFM

OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE

The Blackout’s Sean Smith to co-present XFM Rock Show live Nu-Metal special

Sean Smith – vocalist with Welsh rising stars The Blackout – will be co-presenting the XFM Rock Show live this weekend with regular host Katie P.

The two will be presenting a four-hour Nu-Metal special, honouring the late 90s rock genre that brought pleasure to so many, and is back in 2009 will full force!

“Nu-Metal is great,” says Sean, whose own band did a cover of Limp Bizkit track My Generation for a Kerrang! Magazine CD. “It’s total party music!”

“Everyone has liked Nu-Metal at one point,” he explains, “whether they admit it or not. Nu-Metal was one of the biggest genres in the world – and for a good reason. Everyone has a favourite Nu-Metal track, and hopefully Katie P and I can play them all at the weekend!”

“I can’t wait,” he adds. “Doing this show is going to be one of my highlights of the year!”

On top of the Nu-Metal special, The Blackout will be debuting new track STF Uppercut on the show from their forthcoming new release The Best In Town, which will be out in May through Epitaph Records.

The Rock Show will be live on air from 10pm til’ 2am Saturday February 28.

The station is available on FM dials in London at 104.9FM and Manchester 97.7FM, as well as on Digital DAB radio across the UK, on Sky TV Channel 113, Virgin Media TV Channel 965 and streaming live online to the world on www.xfm.co.uk.

For more details see www.xfm.co.uk/rockshow and Katie P’s own site, www.myspace.com/theblackout www.myspace.com/invinciblesummer.
